7 Kauai Hotels With Great Pools
The Royal Sonesta
Located on the East shore of the island and about 2 miles from the airport, The Royal Sonesta is one Kauai hotel with a big pool. It’s not only one of the biggest on the island, but it’s the largest one-level pool in all of Hawaii!
Open from 7am to 10pm, this pool has a wonderful poolside bar as well as poolside service. There is the option to reserve a poolside cabana that you might want to consider. And if you happen to be traveling with littles, they offer a separate kiddie pool that’s equipped with a waterslide.
Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach
If you’re thinking of staying on the Coconut Coast, The Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach has an amazing zero edge infinity pool. Well, actually two pools, one for the adults and one for the kids!
They offer lounge chairs not only around the pool but there are six located inside the pool. Just steps to the beach, this resort also has a nice sized whirlpool near the pool. Towels are provided and on hot days you just might find them serving shave ice poolside.

Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu
A 350,000 gallon pool with ocean views, what’s not to love? Voted the Best Pool in America by USA Today’s 10Best four times, you’ll find waterfalls, waterslides and an infinity edge where water descends into a lower water playground.
Kids can enjoy the children’s splash pad with dancing water spouts and several fountains. There is also a beach entrance and not one, not two, but three jacuzzis! This three-tiered lagoon pool is one you won’t want to miss!
Koa Kea Hotel & Resort
Relax in a quaint pool amidst palm trees, tropical plants and lava rocks at Ko’a Kea Hotel at Po’ipu Beach. You can reserve a comfortable daybed that’s perfect for two people. The pool hours are 11:00 am to 8:30 pm, so there’s plenty of time to relax and enjoy the weather and the water.
I added this to the list of Kauai hotels with best pools because I think it’s a very romantic place. The pool isn’t as large as some of the others, but it serves its purpose and provides a spot to relax and spend time with your significant other or loved one.
Waipouli Beach Resort
Here’s another hotel conveniently located on the East shore. Waipouli Beach Resort makes the list of Kauai hotels with great pools for a reason…the pool is phenomenal!
With two meandering waterslides, a lazy river and a sand bottom hot tub, this one one excellent place to relax! Their poolside service includes drinks and snacks, with a beachside bar nearby. Surrounded by black lava rock, hibiscus, plumeria and palm trees, this is one tropical oasis you won’t want to leave!
Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa
This is one hotel on the island that has absolutely amazing multi-level pools. With an adult only area, it’s perfect for those who are traveling solo, with a significant other or with friends. Don’t worry, there’s a lower pool that’s kid friendly.
Float down the lazy river lined with lava rock, swim in the saltwater lagoon or cascade down a 150 foot waterslide! Private cabanas are also available to rent poolside. This is one of the most spectacular pools on Kauai that you don’t want to miss!
Poipu Shores
The main reason Poipu Shores made the list of Kauai hotels with great pools is its proximity to the ocean. Like, it’s right there. When the water hits the rocks just right, you can actually feel the ocean spray from the pool.
This is a remarkable spot to see seals, sea turtles, dolphins and even whales, right from your poolside chair. And the sunsets are majestic!
