There is definitely no shortage of condos for rent on the island of Kauai. For some, renting a condo has more advantages than a hotel.

Maybe you need more room, a full kitchen, or just don’t care for staying in hotels.

How to find Condos to rent on Kauai

Online Rental Platforms

Probably the easiest and most common way to find a condo are searching sites like Airbnb, Booking.com, VRBO, and Expedia.

But be aware, there are downsides to using many of these services. For one, there are additional fees that can range from a few dollars to hundreds, depending on the unit you’re looking at.

Another thing to consider is the potential differences in quality of each place. What one person considers acceptable, another might not. So there is always a possibility that the unit might not measure up to your standards in cleanliness and amenities.

Speaking of amenities, they can vary widely on individually owned units. Things like towels and extra toiletries may be included in some condos, but not all.

On-site services like daily housekeeping isn’t usually available. And although some condo complexes may have restaurants, fitness centers and pools on-site, not all of them do.

Vacation Rental Websites

Some condo owners do have their own websites for their units. Vacation rental management companies such as Alekona Kauai manage a wide variety of units including condos, vacation homes, and villas.

Local Real Estate Agencies

Real estate agencies on Kauai may handle rental properties, including condos. But typically they partner with vacation rental management companies. Contacting them directly or checking their websites can provide rental listings.

Social Media

Facebook groups such as Kauai Vacation Rentals By Owners list properties available regularly. Kauai Calls and Kauai Exclusive Vacation Rentals have an abundance of rentals listed, including many condos.

Classified Ads

This is one you’ll want to be careful with though. Unfortunately there are an abundance of scams for Kauai condo rentals on sites like Craigslist, so always proceed with caution here.

Hanalei Bay Resort

The Cliffs at Princeville

Overlooking the majestic North Shore of Kauai, nature will put on a show every sunrise and sunset at the Cliffs. Amenities include a swimming pool with two jacuzzis, a fitness center and a kid’s playground, just to name a few.

The condos are spacious and they offer discounts for seniors, AAA members, government and military, as well as a local Kama’aina rate.

Ali’i Kai Resort

The Ali’i Kai Resort has two bedroom, two bath fully-equipped luxury condos. They are non-smoking and include washers and dryers, Blu-ray DVD players, ceiling fans, patio furniture and much more.

Located in Princeville close to shopping, dining and gorgeous beaches, there’s always something to do near by!

Time Shares

If you love Kauai so much you plan on visiting regularly, buying into a time share is something to consider. Usually time shares give you a certain number of weeks a year. Often you can stay at a variety of other properties as well in different locations, all depending on the specifics of the plan you buy into of course.

South Shore Kauai Condo Rentals

Kuhio Shores

As close as you can get to the ocean, Kuhio Shores has both one and two bedroom condos with room for the whole family. Located in Poipu, you’ll enjoy watching turtles, whales, seals and surfers from your own private lanai.

With a barbecue area, laundry room and the relaxing sound of rustling palm trees, there’s everything you need for a relaxing vacation.

Poipu Shores

With spacious living areas and full kitchens, these oceanfront condos are the perfect spot to stay on Kauai. They offer BBQ grills, WiFi and free parking.

Other amenities include a pool, hot tub, coffee maker (with Hawaiian coffee), flat screen TV, and washer and dryer in units.

Located close to some of the world’s best beaches, you’ll find plenty to do close by including restaurants and shopping.

Poipu Kapili Resort

These classy Kauai condo rentals have ocean views with 1 or 2 bedroom units and even Penthouse suites! Amenities include tennis and pickle-ball courts, an in-room safe, fully equipped kitchen, and a swimming pool with an ocean view.
