9 of the Best Kauai Hotels With Restaurants On Site

What’s more convenient while on vacation than staying at Kauai Hotels with restaurants inside, or right on the property. There are many really great hotels that have dining options. But there are also many that don’t.

So in this post I thought it would be helpful to list a few of the best Kauai hotels with restaurants on site. If having food convenient and close by is important to you, I hope you find this beneficial.

Kauai Hotels With Restaurants

Kauai Shores

Popular because of its “toes in the sand” dining, Lava Lava Beach Club located at Kauai Shores is definitely a place to try. They serve breakfast, lunch, dinner and of course drinks all day.

In the AM try a Surfin’ Pig Omelet with Kalua pork, cheddar cheese, avacodo and caramelized onions, or Cakes by the Ocean which is 2 each of pancakes, bacon, Portuguese sausage and eggs.

Lunch boasts options such as Kimchee Loco Moco, Big Mike’s Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich, and a Fresh Fish Plate.

Dinner consists of a variety of choices that include pupus, flatbreads, soups and salads. There are dishes Of the Sea such as Chinese Spice Rubbed Ahi and Coconut Shrimp, and Of the Land like Grilled Angus New York Steak and a LLBC Burger.

They even have live music daily from 3-9pm. Happy Hour is from 3-4:30pm.

The ISO

The Bull Shed offers ocean front dining on the Coconut Coast of Kauai. For forty years they’ve been serving both locals and visitors to the Garden Isle. Open daily from 4:30-9:30pm, they have an assortment of dinner options ranging from New York Steak and Grilled Shrimp to Baby Back Ribs and Teriyaki Chicken.

Reservations are best, especially if you have a party of six or more. This makes my list of Kauai hotels with restaurants despite the fact that The Bull Shed is a favorite even among locals who aren’t staying at the hotel.

Just take a look at the view, it’s simply amazing!

Waipoli Beach Resort

Oasis on the Beach is the premier restaurant located at Waipoli Beach Resort in Kapa’a. They offer fine dining in an open air setting with gorgeous ocean views.

Featuring appetizers such as Roasted Tomato Soup, Clams and Pork Wontons, salads, sides and vegetarian dishes, their entrées are the stars of the show. Indulge in Braised Boneless Short Rib, Sakura Pork Chop, Cold Water Lobster Tail, and a Mauka Burger (with bacon jam and tobacco onions).

Cocktails and wine are plentiful, and they have a Happy Hour on Wednesday from 3-5pm.

Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach

You will find several restaurants on site at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach:

The Crooked Surf, Moa Moa, Daybreak Restaurant, and Fire Hen.

Daybreak Restaurant offers a breakfast buffet, but also a la carte options like Paradise Pancakes. I have to say that we tried the breakfast buffet once and weren’t huge fans. It wasn’t bad, it was just okay and didn’t have as many options as some of the other ones we tried. I would definitely give it another chance during an upcoming visit though.

Moa Moa Hawaiian Fish House shares a space with Daybreak Restaurant, only they are open in the evening from 5:30-9pm. They feature pacific island cuisine and have dishes such as Tropical Panzanella, Grilled Octopus, Maui Golden Pineapple Curry and an 8oz Grilled Parker Ranch Fillet.

The location is nice as it’s an open air restaurant with a view of the pool and the ocean.

The Crooked Surf is an outdoor bar that is poolside and oceanfront, just steps from the beach. They offer everything from starters, salads and poke bowls to cheeseburgers, fish tacos and chili peppered fried chicken. You have to try the molten lava cake for dessert, it’s so yummy!

Last but not least is Fire Hen, which serves, you guessed it, chicken. You get to choose how you want your chicken: bone in wings, breaded chicken tenders, or a chicken tender sandwich. You can choose whether you want mild, medium or hot sauce, and dipping sauce such as blue cheese, sriracha ranch, garlic aioli or pineapple jerk. (They have way more dipping sauce choices, these are just a few.)

The Fire Hen menu also includes three different bowls: Asian, Hawaiian and Mainland, a few French fry options (house, garlic or sweet potato), steamed white rice, raw veggies and fresh pineapple cubes.

We really enjoyed the food here. It wasn’t fancy, but it was good…especially the sweet potato fries. And you can’t beat the convenience of a restaurant located at the hotel you’re staying at.

The Royal Sonesta

Kukui’s on Kalapaki beach is located at The Royal Sonesta, one of the Kauai hotels with restaurants on site. You can dine in the restaurant, place your order poolside, or have it sent up to your room.

Their Puna breakfast buffet is available, but they also offer grab and go options like wraps, bento bowls, bakery items and fresh fruit.

In room dining is also an option. You’ll find everything from a classic breakfast and hot stack pancakes to a vegetarian omelet and porky boy rice bowl.

A lite lunch menu is offered, as well dinner and cocktails. They offer International cuisine with local ingredients. Dishes range from Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich, a Guava BBQ Kalua Pork Sandwich, and a classic burger to fish of the day and Ribeye steak.

Royal Lanai Sushi and Spirits is also on site with a vast array of Sushi options for you to choose from.

Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu

Holoholo Grill is located at Koloa Landing Resort and features breakfast, lunch and dinner options that are inspired Hawaiian fusion cuisine.

Ko’a Kea

At Red Salt, the restaurant located at Ko’a Kea, you can delight in both breakfast and dinner. Enjoy lemon pineapple soufflĂ© pancakes, loco moco, and lobster benedict for breakfast. Indulge in Surf and turf, crispy game hen, and cauliflower steak for dinner. All while gazing upon palm trees and the ocean.

Ko’a Kea Sushi Bar and Lounge is another dining option, located inside Red Salt. Reservations are highly recommended.

Ocean front cabana dinners are available (for a pretty penny, ranging from $350-$450 per person). They could be a good way to celebrate a special occasion if you don’t mind paying that much for dinner.

Hanalei Colony Resort

Located on the North side of the island, Opakapaka Grill and Bar at Hanalei Colony Resort is the only Oceanside eatery on the North shore. They serve up Hawaiian favorites such as Loco Moco and Island fresh fish and chips.

There’s definitely no shortage of dining options: Enjoy steak, burgers, tacos, seafood, salads and more. And of course, cocktails!

Don’t forget to have dessert! From Molten Chocolate Cake with fresh berries and sauce to Cheesecake topped with raspberries and caramel, you really can’t go wrong. Open daily from 11am-8pm.

Sheraton Kauai Resort

Here you’ll find two dining options: RumFire Poipu Beach and Lava’s on Poipu Beach.

Sheraton Kauai RumFire has daily specials as well as a wide variety of delectable food options. Feast on Filet Mignon, Misoyaki Butterfish, or Hawaiian Tofu. Desserts such as Olive Oil Cake, Baked Kauai and Affogato are the perfect way to end your dining experience.

As a way to give back, the Sheraton Rum Fire started the You Dine, We Donate Program which offers reservations at table 53. All net food and beverage proceeds go directly to a local charity. They have raised more than $581,904.88 since the program started in October of 2012!

What makes this Kauai hotel restaurant even more amazing are the views! Enjoy 180 degree ocean views from every seat in the house!

Lava Lava’s on Poipu Beach serves up breakfast, lunch and dinner daily that can even be ordered poolside or sent to your room.

Breakfast options include Kalua Pork Benedict, Sunrise French Toast and a Bonfire breakfast burrito, just to name a few.
