Kauai Tours: Discover Unique Experiences You’ll Want to Have
When you think of Kauai tours, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? I’m guessing helicopters, boats, and the like. Well I’m here to tell you that there are many more options for tours on Kauai than those previously mentioned.
And you don’t have to be super adventurous to enjoy them! The following tours are right up my alley, and maybe yours too, if jumping into a helicopter or boat just isn’t your thing. You can still experience many of the special things that Kauai has to offer (all from the safety of land).

Kauai Rum Tours
Koloa Rum Tasting– Visit the Koloa Rum Company store and tasting room located at the Kilohana Plantation in Lihue, Kauai to experience Koloa Rum for yourself. They offer a full range of single-batch, premium Hawaiian rums and ready-to-drink cocktails as well as rum cakes, rum fudge sauce and more.

Everyone in your group must be at least 21 with a valid ID. Although the Rum tasting is complimentary, reservations are required and there is a $5 booking fee per party (up to 6 guests, larger parties incur an additional booking fee and require an additional reservation).

Kauai Rum Safari Tour– Enjoy a two hour guided Rum safari tour of Kilohana Plantation. Sip on Mai Tais and Koloa Rum while seeing animals and appreciating the scenery from an open-air truck.

Kauai Farm Tours
Kauai Plantation Railway– tour the 105 acre Kilohana Plantation by train and see what a working farm in Kauai is like. Step aboard a historic train car and see stands of original island crops such as taro and sugarcane. Also groves of banana, papaya, pineapple, mango and more.
Stop to feed the animals: pigs, sheep, goats, and even a donkey named Stiney!

Common Ground– Walk through a food forest and discuss farming, food and ways to support the local food system on Kauai. You also get to enjoy a meal prepared with local, fresh ingredients harvested from Common Ground and other farms on Kauai.

Kauai Kunana Dairy Farm– Explore a working dairy farm during this two hour Kauai tour. You will get to feed and hold baby goats, taste cheese and tropical fruit, and learn all about the dairy and cheesemaking process.

Kauai Chocolate Tours
Lydgate Farms Chocolate Tour-Stroll through the botanical gardens at Lydgate Farms and sample honey, vanilla beans and an assortment of tropical fruit. Taste the fruit from the chocolate tree and learn about the process of creating chocolate.

In the event you’re not up for a 3 hour tour, you can still indulge in yummy chocolate by visiting the Lydgate Chocolate Tasting Room located in Kapa’a.

Garden Isle Chocolate– Sample over 20…yes, you read that right, 20 different kinds of chocolate during this three hour chocolate tour. Excellent especially if you’re a fan of dark chocolate.

Kauai Coffee Tours
Kauai Coffee Company– Tour the largest coffee plantation in the U.S. You can sample Kauai Coffee, talk to knowledgeable guides, walk through the farm and explore their gift shop. They offer self-guided tours where you can stroll at your own pace. Also guided walking tours as well as a farm tour in their open-air truck.

Kauai Garden Tours
Allerton Garden– With a wide variety of guided Kauai tour options, you’ll find unique plant collections and trees, flowers, even a stream!

McBride Garden– See native plants, a food forest and experience the history of this exquisite garden. Both private and self-guided tours are available, but you want to book in advance as they do sell out.
